This Game Plagued my Thoughts as I was In Bed
Which I found as a good enough reason to give you a thorough review. First, I love the mood and tone the game gives off; a mystifying yet eerie feeling that is help amplified by the the (song?/ambiance?) and the sound effects in general. As well as the simple pixelated style and the minimum colour palette that you made work very well. Mixed with the story segments I was getting a sort of Grimm Fairytale mood, which is awesome!
The story itself however, which seems you made one of the most important aspects of the game, was interesting at first but got a little humdrum as it went on. It was cool how the story segment matched the stages, but I feel like you forced yourself to write something that would more fit a playable stage than on the story itself. The girl's sudden decision to make her big change felt like it came out of nowhere. Still, very well done presentation.
The game itself is fun of course. Like your style choice it appears to be such a simple idea, but you made it work very well with how you presented it. Every time I finished a stage I would go "oohhhh" seeing how it matched the text that just appeared. It made the accomplishment feeling all the better and made me eager to see how the next stage would tie in. Like others had said, I was having a decent time with the puzzles doing most of the puzzles in minimal or near minimal clicks when all of a sudden things got face palming hard! Which is why I continued to think about this game while I laid in bed; trying to figure quicker ways I could've finished that puzzle.
I was able to figure out some of the tougher puzzles eventually, but some of them I just gave up and clicked randomly until I realized I was coming close to a solution. But maybe you did this as in part as a time waster/mobile game, which it would do very well at if I found myself with this game while waiting to hear my name called. Still, the difficultly spike could've been mended if not slowly transitioned to from the casual difficulty a little better.
Alas, very original and amusing game! You got me with the original presentation and general feel of the game. Writing could use some editing and improvements, but hey, it does what needs to be done. If I find myself owning a Android or Iphone I'll definitely be picking this up!
I just want to let everyone know
The bonus end picture for hard mode isn't worth the 20 minutes of random clicking you're gonna have to do.
Other than that, decent fun, I always liked playing these games on those touch screen games that have at arcades and such.
I know what you're trying to go for, but...
A simple mindless web game while I'm waiting for my porn to load, but there's a little too many faults here that makes me rather choose Desktop Dungeon than this game for a porn loader. Like everyone said, it's pretty difficult, but personally I like difficult games. However your game isn't justifiably hard rather it's frustrating. Often times I found myself thinking for sure getting the shot when the critter spun and I missed. I understand the hitboxes are as big as the critters, but that doesn't help when they all continually move at a parallel speed and spin forever. What would've been interesting is if your team animated the critters running up, stop for a bit and scratch their head, and then run again. Make it more life like, then I would be fine if I missed the shot and missed the perfect opportunity for a kill.
Graphics were fine, nothing special. I think you guys missed an opportunity to make the creatures diabetes inducing cute, but they're fine as they are. The (yard?) during the game however looks very bland. Music was nice, a little too house-ey for a natural game in my opinion, but it's all good. Like others have said, Sound Effects would've brought this to life, gun fire, creatures squeaking, a satisfying screech when you get 'em.
I can definitely see where you wanted to go with this, but even if you were going for a simple and easy game, doesn't mean you can take it easy on the development process. I think some more thought during the planning stages would've made things vastly different. If its a simple addictive game you're going for, I think it's gonna take a lot more work than you would think. Till then.
Simple, but Nice
I agree with Sadist, it wasn't bad, had the basic foundation and fundamentals down, they just need some fine tuning. Movement felt pretty rough and slow as well as did the attacks, speeding it up a bit would bring up the adrenaline. Once Evil Peachtree showed up, it got interesting rather then shooting immobile enemies. I think some more boss like enemies will make this game more exciting. And again going with Sadist, upping the difficulty.
The sound and music worked well, though Revy's special nearly blew out my speakers. Speaking of her special I encountered a bug whilst fighting Peachtree, Revy's special stopped appearing though I still dealt damage. Graphics were alright, a level of shading would've made it livelier.
You should release flash more often, who knows how crazy your games would improve if you keep steadily producing content. Till then.
Aye, that's an odd glitch. Sounds like it may have skipped the frame where it suppose to tell it appear. (The hitbox is seperate from the actual graphic.)
The balancing will be changed to amp up the difficulty, and I'll be making new models to make it more animated.
I don't quite Understand
What all the noise over this series is talking about. Sure the take on the ol' Alice story is interesting, but beyond that there isn't really much from this that makes it all to special compared to many other point and click games.
I admit at I was excited to see what crazy mysteries and storytelling this game was gonna have, but honestly this 2nd one didn't really add anything to the story at all. I learned absolutely nothing in this installment, there was hardly any substance here. Not to mention it was soo short and easy that I felt really unsatisfied by the end of it. Sure, Mad Hatter was interesting, and Tomar as usual does an amazing job, but really I didn't care for the character.
Maybe I'm just being a prick and maybe it's just because I'm sick and tired of Alice in Wonderland, but whatever it is, this series seems highly overrated in my opinion. But looking at all the hubbub it's getting, I say keep feeding the fishes.
Hah, very charming little game
Quite a surprise this one was. Very simple, but everything goes together so well. To the simple graphics, to the simple but evolving soundtrack, and the relaxing feeling you get when playing it. At first I was rather confused on what to do and thought of it to be a simple side scroller. Then I gladly realized the music was going with the entire gameplay and thought it worked very well. It was so simple, yet it got me going and I felt entranced to the game.
The music really fitted each stage from the beginning somber tone to the final excited song. I really liked how the character himself began to smile with each stage and you can really sense the energy that began to grow in him and me along with him.
My only complaint is that it ended so soon, but leave em wanting more then having them get sick of it, ey? Great stuff, very effective. Can't wait to see more!
Simple, But Very Enjoyable
I was surprised you've released a new game and I hadn't heard of it, so as soon as I realized that "Redder" was by the same creator of "When Pigs Fly" I quickly threw myself into another interesting and fun ride. At first impression I thought of Metroid like everyone else, which is fine it totally fits the mood. As I journey from room to room, realizing how enormous the entire map was, I quickly got caught up in the simple treasure seeking gameplay. The puzzles had me completely emerged into solving it's mystery and the sense of accomplishment of figuring it out had me wanting more. Once I got the 24th Marker I knew there was no way I was gonna stop playing there until I get every single last one. Just like "When Pigs Fly" this game was strangely addicting.
The graphics this time were very simple and were not all too impressive. They were nice, but it didn't have any charm or anything to tasty within them. As the graphics began to become distorted I was confused as many other people were, thinking you perhaps didn't fix all the bugs. But as I continued on the distortion only continued and at this point I had muted the game, having grown tired of the atmospheric tone. So, curious I unmuted it and notice the distortion had reach the sound quality as well. I began to realize the reason and totally loved the effect. It was like playing a NES game and I didn't blow hard enough on the cartidge and now it was slowly crashing and burning. I completely love what happens once I obtained the final marker and found it very fitting.
Again, love your work. The gameplay was simple, but kept me going. While the graphics were simple the distortion that began to overtake the game was brilliant and as you might've guess from my muting the music wasn't anything to phone home about. However, it was a very nice game, totally retro with a little sense of wonder hiding beneath it. I just hope more people can look pass the retro and find the magic underneath as well.
I Have Never Hated Physics So Much!
But man is it so fun! I really enjoyed every aspect of this game, the simple gameplay, enjoyable music and sounds, and I just love the graphics the 8-bit style fitted very well and were just so simple but delightful. Yes it is a very hard game, it took me as long as it did everyone else which is around half an hour. However, making the game really hard was a good decision, it's what makes us want to go back for more and more. I was also hoping for a little more at the end, some kind of bigger celebration, but alas.
Great game, very creative. Can't wait for more from you.
I gotta say I wasn't expecting much from a game titled "Final Fantasy Sonic X," but gladly to my surprise this was pretty damn awesome. The animation was very smooth and it looked fantastic, good choice of FPS. The actual game parts were pretty sweet as well, but I think the fight was a little too easy once you could do Gigabreak, but I guess I'll try it again on hard. Your voice actors did a swell job, not the best voice acting I've heard but it was good.
Well, I loved it in the end and I hope it won't take too long for episode 7 to come out.
Thank you! Ill try to work faster on the next ones
Definintly Not The Best Point And Click Adventure
It looked pretty nice at first, but it isn't really fun or that intresting. First the graphics are ok, but during cutscenes they suddenly change into a different style like the outlines are smaller and the coloring is different.
The sounds are ok, but the voice acting is pretty bad, I suggest the next time you get voices, you get actors from the Voice Acting Club. I like how you have the guy describing what he thinks on what you want him to grab or lick or something. It has a strange flow though and it's pretty dull. I just didn't really find it too fun, some of the items you never even use, which I found strange.
Well, nice try in the end, but I personally think you didn't try your best.
